Oscar and Lady Eleanor

Oscar night at our house generally means...nothing.
We used to do Oscar parties and have some fun, but lately it just hasn't been the priority so... here we are. The kids are watching Little House on DVD after church and then a full day playing in the backyard with a neighbor boy, Jack.

Tonight the man of the house comes home early from work (9pm instead of tomorrow 9am) so he can leave at 4 am tomorrow with the church to help out in Mississippi. Cleaning up and rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina is the purpose of the trip. He'll be gone a week and we are already missing him. (Hopefully he won't anger any more cacti on the trip).
The socks above are the Feb Socktopia socks I finished a night or two ago. Size 3 dpn, Baby Cashmerino, with a modified Debbie Bliss pattern. I carried the cable all the way down the sock...the one you see on top is the "bad" one. I left holes on the gap area and didn't evenly cable there either. The one you can't see if perfect. I think the first one is "good enough". I'd love to re-knit the ones I made for Katherine for Christmas. I think the pattern was far too big and I like only 48 stitches instead of the original 54. These ones are for me, and I love them!

To the right here is a bad picture, but I had to include it because I have waited sooo long to cast on for this project. It is the Lady Eleanor wrap from "Scarf Style" and I am using Noro Silk Garden. The pattern calls for size 10 1/2 needles and a bigger guage yarn. So, with size 8 needles, I cast on for 12 courses of rectangles instead of the 8 courses it called for! Hope it won't be too big!

Dinner is ready so bye!
