This is a Cactus. (Yes, we do live in a desert!) At any rate, gues where it came from. Go ahead. Guess.
OK. Here's the story. My DH went biking in the local trails and whacked at a cactus with a stick. Well, I guess the cactus didn't like that because it came out and hurled itself through the air. It landed on his chest/shoulder area. It hurt. I tried to take it out with pliers. No go. Eventually the doctor had to pull it out with pliers, each spike. One at a time. It hurt. I wish I had gotten a pic of this creature actally attached to him, but my better judgement led me to reject the idea. It hurt, but it was FUNNY.
It didn't end there, either. Several days later he came home from work to find the cactus still in resisdence on the kitchen counter. After promptly throwing the said cactus in the trash, he let a small piece of spine fall unnoticed on the floor. He unkowingly picked it up in his stockinged feet. Later, when he put his shoes on...oach! I had to take it out with pliers. Oops.
This is a view of Lincoln giving his Gettyberg Address at the Reagan Museum on President's Day:
Is it possible that there can be too many socks on the needles at one time? I don't think so! It is so fun to start new ones! This is my slipped-stitch ribbed socks. They are using a 3 X 3 rib pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks. I am really enjoying making these ones...the colors are so very soothing to me, and even exciting, too. Is that an oxymoron? Soothing and exciting? Whatever.
I've also got a Log-Cabin Blanket going: In browns and greens. I had to go to the LYS a week or so ago because I realized I needed more colors. A picture is coming soon...probably of the unripped problem blanket so you can see why I needed for colors.
Bye

LOL - Tell your hubby sorry but the cactus still makes me laugh. And the spine on the floor... well, I'm laughing more.
